HOROAKI JINNO Profile

During university, trained under film director Mamoru Oshii and began their career as the art director for the film The Red Spectacles.

Won first place in the Directors Company Screenplay Contest and debuted as a screenwriter with The Last Cabaret, directed by Shusuke Kaneko. The screenplay for this film also earned the Kameari Film Festival Screenplay Award.

Oshii has described them as follows:
"They lack experience in typical anime themes such as paranormal phenomena, superpowers, magic, machines, or war, but when it comes to writing about the world of 'junior high school' and 'high school,' particularly 'girls,' they are the best in Japan. They’ve always been interested in the world of middle and high school students and have spent years frequenting places where these kids gather, extracting and studying their language."

While continuing to provide screenplays, they have also written manga scripts and audio dramas.

They expanded into theater, handling over 150 performances across 27 years, continuing their diverse range of activities.

After Mantle Prince Theater and 10×50 KINGDOM, they currently lead the production group Gasolina.
